Tokyo Joel Robuchon Restaurant in Ebisu - Best Michelin 3 Star French Cuisine Gourmet Dining Experience in Japan

French cuisine in Tokyo Japan? Yes because it is Joel Robuchon Michelin 3-star. Hiding in the concrete jungle of central Tokyo, world's capital of most Michelin star restaurants, Le Chateau de Joël Robuchon stands out in the Ebisu/Yebisu as it is the most unique building and the most prestigious Michelin star French cuisine restaurant in Japan for the past 10 years. I am dedicating this blog article to share my amazing Tokyo luxurious fine dining experience at Michelin 3-Star Robuchon restaurant.

EBISU AREA AND YEBISU GARDEN PLACE SQUARE
Because of the raining weather on the date of my dinner reservation, I decided to take another trip to the Ebisu area to visit the Yebisu Garden Square during the day time for the photographs of the surrounding areas. The Chateau de Robuchon was hidden away in the concrete jungle of Tokyo in Ebisu area where no one would have guessed where French style architecture would be situated. Ebisu seems to be a very nice residential neighborhood in an urban city.

Visitors can either take a nice walk on the street or take the Ebisu Skywalk to the restaurant area. The moving conveyor side walk goes south to the Yebisu Garden Square.

Arriving at Yebisu Garden Place Square. There were western style pastry bakeries, coffee shops and restaurants in the area. Beer Station Yebisu Garden Place is in located inside of the brick building

LE CHATEAU DE JOEL ROBUCHON EXTERIOR
An French style Chateau building appears in at the center of concrete jungle of Tokyo.

Entrance of the French Chateau with Tokyo residential buildings in the background.

View of the Ebisu Garden Place Square from the French Chateau. I wonder who other than Joel Robuchon would have similar vision of fulfilling his dream of revolutionizing French cuisine in Japan.

MICHELIN 3 STAR DINING EXPERIENCE AT JOEL ROBUCHON RESTAURANT TOKYO EBISU

Soon after we were greeted by the restaurant staff, our coats were hung by the coat check attendant near the entrance. No Japanese language skill? No problem The staff at Robuchon Tokyo made me feel that all the English speaking Japanese people work at Robuchon.

This Tokyo Ebisu Joel Robuchon restaurant was proud to present their 10 year history of receiving the highest honor in gastronomy.

Modeled after a real French Chateau, the decor of the lobby, staircase and chandeliers gave out sense of stylish modern luxury. Restaurant manager brought us to the second floor dining area in elevator rather having us take the stairs.

Classy purple ribbon wraps around cloth napkin is a perfect setting for a romantic night out at 3-Star Michelin Robuchon Tokyo. Dinner Prix Fixe Menu costs around $250 to $500 USD per person. Vegetarian Prix Fixe Menu was also available.

*L'Amuse Bouche
Three-Star Michelin experience starts off with Joel Robuchon's signature dish of L'Amuse Bouche. This first dish was worth my effort of reserving a table 2 to 3 months prior to my arrival date. I was initially interested in their lunch menu but lunch reservation availability was much less than dinner. Umami-rich seafood gelatin mixed with crab meat, topped with caviar.

*La Noix de Saint-Jacque en carpaccio citronne aux navets rouges
Delicate flavors of scallop carpaccio and baby red Daikon (Japanese horseradish) in perfect harmony with a hint of citrus. This was one of the first Les Entrees Froides or Cold Appetizers I ordered for myself.

*La Tomate en bonbons acidules sur une transparence a l'huiles vierge citronnee

My dinner companion had ordered the beautiful and refreshing dish with their signature transparent sauce infused inside of each baby tomato. Great balance of tart, sweetness and the depth of the chilled bouillon soup.

*Le Potiron en veloute glace au canard fume releve d'une huile epicee
Japanese chestnut and pumpkin puree soup served with smoked duck breast and paprika spice. The soup was served lukewarm. Rich and creamy tastes but not overpowering each of the ingredients.

*Le Boeuf grille avec des ligumes saison au jus
Wagyu beef with seasonal vegetable in au jus sauce, topped by a few shavings of French black truffle. Robust beef flavor of tender Japanese Wagyu was accentuated by the Umami flavor of truffle slices.

*Le Chariolot de fromages
Formal French cuisine is not complete without fromage or gourmet cheese. Robuchon restaurants serves different types of cheese on their "Cheese Wagon" I requested for light and mild flavor cheese because I am a beginner to authentic French cheese.

*Le Chocolat en souffle chaud, pure origine "Ilanka", son sorbet exotique
Gourmet chocolate souffle served with tropical fruit sorbet. Contrast of the different tastes between bitter sweetness of the chocolate souffle and passion fruit sorbet was a refreshing experience to end of the meal.

*Le Chariolot de Desserts
Towards the end of the night, Robuchon made sure all the customers leave the Chateau restaurants full and satisfied. The endless servings of delicate desserts were served from a "Dessert Wagon" similar to their Le Chariolot de fromages. The variety and quality of each of the petite dessert definitely fulfilled Robuchon's Michelin 3-star expectation

As a take home present, female guests would receive baked goods from their streamlined La Boutique de Joel Robuchon patisserie. The buttery cake was a good choice for late night munchies or train ride snack on the following day.

Robucho's stand-alone patisserie in Ebisu is located in the underground nearby the Chateau restaurant. Reasonably priced and no reservation is required for visitors who do not wish for the full Michelin Star course experience but still want to taste their buttery goods.
